COBALT GAINS KOREAN AIR LHR HANDLING CONTRACT
Cobalt Ground Solutions have been appointed ground handler for Korean Air operations in Terminal 4 from 10th November 2009. The service range offered to Korean includes full ground handling except ticketing and trucking. Korean Airlines flies a daily B747-400 to Seoul, with a winter schedule of 16.30 arrival and 20.05 departure (local times). On request of Korean Air, Cobalt provides a dedicated passenger services team. Preparation for implementation of services for KE got underway with familiarisation visits to observe the KE operation in T3 and training programmes were put in place for a dedicated passenger services team and to train any KE specifics for the flight operations and ramp & baggage teams. All this preparation culminated in a highly successful inaugural on the 10th November and the KE B747-400 departed with all passengers and bags on board 7 minutes ahead of schedule, which lived up to all expectations. The management of Korean Air were very impressed with Cobalt’s preparation and service delivery since start-up. Changing terminal and ground handler on the same day was a true achievement for both parties!
