AIR SOUTHWEST STARTS UP AT LONDON CITY

< back

On the 20th of April, Air Southwest launched twice daily services from London City Airport and chose Cobalt Ground Solutions Ltd as their main handler. Their services to Newquay and Plymouth are operated by Dash 8 Aircraft. The early booking factors for the flights are highly encouraging. At these times, with reduced business travel and overall economic conditions having a severe impact on the schedules out of London City, it certainly is a positive sign that Air Southwest starts this new domestic route.

Cobalt is very pleased and proud to have Air Southwest as a new customer. Both Air Southwest as well as Cobalt´s General Manager of London City Andy Fitzhugh speak of a successful start up with a lead time of just six weeks. The Cobalt team has been receiving compliments from day one and Andy Fitzhugh says he welcomed the new service: “Air Southwest passengers are once again able to travel to London’s financial centres faster than any other way with this new service. London City Airport’s close proximity to Canary Wharf and The City, with quick connections to the rest of London and the South East, makes it an obvious choice for the business traveller. With a check-in time of only 15 minutes, this new service will be popular with commuters wanting to maximise their business day. The Cobalt team are proud to be part of this exiting new route and are pleased that Air south west are the second start up carrier to join the Cobalt LCY portfolio in 2009.”
